Dear Friend,

here's a question that cuts to the heart of every person: Are you truly good? Are you better than a Democrat, a Republican, or anyone else?

Let's put it to the test. Imagine you're standing before God, the perfect Judge. How would you fare against His standards?

The Test:

  1. Have you ever told a lie? Even a small one? The Bible says, "You shall not bear false witness" (Exodus 20:16).
  2. Have you ever taken something that didn't belong to you? Regardless of its value, that's stealing. The commandment is clear: "You shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15).
  3. Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Jesus said, "Everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28).
  4. Have you ever used God's name in vain? This is called blasphemy, and it's serious. "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain" (Exodus 20:7).

If you're honest, you've likely admitted to lying, stealing, lusting, or blasphemy at some point in your life. These actions are called sins, and they separate us from God. The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

No matter our political affiliations or moral standards, we've all broken God's Law. This isn't about being better than someone else—Democrat, Republican, or any other label. Before God, we're all guilty. And the consequence? "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23), meaning eternal separation from God in hell.

But there's hope! God, in His love and mercy, provided a way for us to be forgiven. Two thousand years ago, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life and die on the cross for our sins. Jesus took the punishment we deserve and rose from the dead, offering us the gift of eternal life. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

So, what's the solution? It's not about being better than others; it's about recognizing our need for a Savior. To receive this gift, we must repent of our sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Today, as we advocate for political values, will you also consider your eternal destiny? Will you repent and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? He offers true freedom—freedom from guilt, shame, and eternal separation from God.

Will you choose true freedom today?
